Editors curate the top stories on Apple News

Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke to Adam Lashinsky of Fortune about curating the top stories in Apple News.

We’ve always believed in curation. We’ve done that from Day One in the App Store. We felt like it’s our store and it says something about us what’s in there. We’ve taken that same view to Apple News. It’s not to be political or to check the views of the stories but to be sure you don’t pick the content that just strictly has the goal of enraging people.

He also said in the interview that Apple will have people writing exclusively for Apple News about the upcoming midterm elections in the United States.
